Change Default Size Of Windows That Open

In WinXP, each time I double-click on a folder, it opens to a size which is
about 3/4 of
my monitor. Each window opens to this large size. I know about resizing
the window
and closing it, so that the next time it opens, it remembers the last
setting.

I'm not talking about that. What I want, is to find the settings (if there
is one)somewhere in
the Registry or a sys file, so I can change it so that all folder that are
opened, do so at a
much smaller size.

Thanks for any help, Paul

Hi Paul,

The positions are stored in the registry (WinPos values) here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags\<number>\Shell

Open a folder, customize it's views, folder size (Window position) and close it once. Now, reopen the folder, Tools, Folder Options and choose "Apply to all folders". If the settings are not saved (as it remembers 400 folder settings by default), apply this fix:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2):
