Change default calendar to exchange calendar

B

brainstewn

I recently migrated from a .pst account to an .ost account or exchange
calendar. When I start Outlook 2007 it starts in the old calender. I tried
deleting that calendar but couldn't.

How do inactivate that calendar that I'm keeping for reference
How do I inform outlook that I want the exchange calendar as my default?

Hi Diane:

In: Tools\account settings\data files my exchange account has "default" in
the comment column, the pst account and archive is blank.

In: Tools\account settings\e-mail tab\ my exchange account type is set as
"send from this account by default" the pop account is blank under the Type
column

I've explored: options\oreferences\calendar and see nothing in the way of
making it the default delivery location.

Thanks for you help, please advise.

Outlook uses what is called System or Default Folders.
The Calendar folder that is firing the automated stuff is your
designated "Default or System Folder" for the Calendar.

To check the "Delivery Location" in OL2003:
Open the TOOLS menu
Select E-MAIL ACCOUNTS
Select VIEW OR CHANGE EXISTING E-MAIL ACCOUNTS
then click NEXT
Near the bottom of this window will be a small text box with the title:
"Deliver new e-mail to the following location"

Where is the location set to in that window? PST or Exchange Mailbox?

Hi Nikki:

I'm using Outlook 2007; with only one pair of eyes I've scoured all options
and settings and have pointed everything to the exchange accounts. After
closing, closing and restarting, closing and shutting down and starting up,
outlook 2007 still starts the calendar with the .pst.

I'm thinking a regedit is in store, only I don't know what to edit.

Try the Outlook Switch option first:

The /resetfolders, Restores missing folders at the default
delivery location.

Instructions for Outlook 2007

See the following link for information on how to use
this switch VERY EASY:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP012185891033.aspx

Basically all you do is open Outlook using one of the switches. In this
case you will open Outlook using the ResetFolders switch. It will look
something like this:

"c:\program files\microsoft office\office12\outlook.exe" /ResetFolders

Hi Nikki:

Thank you for the links, unfortunately they didn't help. I tried the switch
/resetfolders and it opened in the old .pst calendar. The help page on .rwz
didn't apply, or couldn't see how it did for my situation.

Any other ideas? Anyone?

I'm not sure now what "it opened in the old PST calendar" means. Click
Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options. What does "Startup in this folder"
contain?

Brian, YOU ROCK! That's all I needed was the steps, which eluded me.
THANKS, for your time and expertise.
