change color of background on journal theme but it only changes t.

I tried to change the background color on the Journal Theme, then saved it to
a new name. The thumbnail view of the theme shows the new color but the
webpage does not. I try to apply theme to individual page or to website but
it does not display changes

Did you remove the current theme and then apply your new theme?
