I have a hardisk with XPE on primary IDE and a CF with XPE on secondary IDE.
In BIOS I can enable/disabe primary and/or secondary IDE.
With primary disabled and secondary enabled it boots on secondary.
With primary enabled and secondary disabled or enabled it boots on primary.

Check your BIOS if this is possible.

hi Allen
when u want CF as secondary IDE
insert the CF in seco. IDE slot
then in the setting of EWF component select Disk number as disk1
and in BIOS cnage the first boot option to HDD1
enable the secondary ID
noe ur image on CF will be booted
Try this
tell me if ny difficulty..

Allen,

Not really sure what your problem is. You can always change the EWF settings
in TD including any changes in protected partition ARC path (rdisk part).
To learn more about ARC path and needed parametr, read this article:

Thanks all your answer

I had already fix this problem. If i directly FBA from C
it's OK,i can switch between primary or secondary

If i FBA from an HD then copy image into CF,it cannot be connec
to different IDE channel

I am wondering if FBA on CF card will cause lot of write according t
someone said on MSDN techinical article or tips ???

Yes, it will. Although it may not wear out your CF card, but it may still be a good idea to run the FBA on HDD.

Hi KM

If i FBA on my HDD then copy image to my CF card
could i boot this CF card with EWF on secondary IDE channel??

I had followed MSDN tech. article to do this but i can only boot C
with primary channel because the HDD which used to do FBA was connecte
to primary IDE

I can only success with CF booting on secondary IDE with hand-mad
registry setting or use your ramewf component, but you know tha
FBA on CF card do a lot of write to my CF card at FBA phase

Best Regard

Are we talking abou RAM EWF here? (most likely since you use CF)
Than use
http://www.xpefiles.com/a_file.cfm?custid=Components&fileid=ramewf.zip&groupName=Other
I had followed MSDN tech. article to do this but i can only boot CF
with primary channel because the HDD which used to do FBA was connected to
primary IDE.

Read
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/tips/xp/rtpartin/default.aspx
to know how to see your CF (o secondary channel) as C:\.
I can only success with CF booting on secondary IDE with hand-made
registry setting or use your ramewf component

This is actually Slobodan's component :)
If you could use it and bypass your issue, then what is the question? Why
can't you use stateless RAM EWF overlay?
,but you know that FBA on CF card do a lot of write to my CF card at FBA
phase.
