I bought a Motorola data solution kit (98504) to connect
to the internet using my cell phone... Im using a Pentium
4 2.0 with XP Home.. It is not finding a dial tone when it
tries to connect, so I get a 678 error (remote computer is
not responding).. How do I make the system recognize or
find a dial tone on my cell phone???

When you installed the Motorola software did it set your cell phone up as a
modem? Look at your modems in Windows; is the phone listed as a modem? It
should be. You have to set the cell phone up like any other dial up modem.
Have you entered all the data, such as the dial up number to your ISP, your
user name and password? This software works very well if you set it up
correctly by following the instructions from Motorola. I have been using the
software with a cell phone, connected to my laptop when I travel, and the
system has been working very well for me.
