CDRW not recognized

I have a generic 4X2X32 CDRW I installed from my old computer. XP located it, but I can't write files to it. I tried to get updated drivers, but when I try to install them, I get a message that "I'm already using the best driver". How do I install the new driver, and is this the way to fix this problem

Thanks

Open My Computer>CD-ROM Drive in question, right click Properties>Recording
Enable CD Recording on the drive. I just added new CDR and WinXP
automatically detected and it worked just fine. Yours may be too old and was
not supported.

Perhaps a third party program such as Nero Burning is a better solution.

I just got a Lite-On 52x CDR and just love it. They are very cheap at
http://newegg.com it is not worth wasting your time with old drive. My old
Mitsumi 4x CDR will not work with 700MB CD's and the old 650 MB CDR's are
very hard to find and cost more.

Thanks for the info. I tried the fix you suggested, and it workd just fine. Trouble is, just like you said, I need to find some 650 Mb CDs. Maybe I'll buy myself a new CDRW for christmas..

Thanks again.
