CD writing wizard error "disc is unuseable"

I'm trying to back up Quicken files and in the past month or so using CD the
Writing Wizard and I get an error that the" disc is unuseable" although I
have used the exact same discs and even new discs of the same brand in the
past. It reads what is on the disc but will not write from the " files to
write to the CD" prompt. There is no trouble writing music to a CD using the
same CD drive and Real Player. I've lowere the writing speed down every
level to 1X but no help. This proble was sporadic in the past but now is all
the time. This is with Windows XP in a one year old emachine. I'm not
super computer literate but any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you want to write from an application directly to a CD or DVD you need
third party "packet writing" software installed on your computer. These
modules are included with both Nero (InCD) and Roxio Easy Media Creator
(Drag to Disk).

Thanks for your reply. I will try that. Is there any thing I can do with
my XP CD Writing Wizard that may solve this as it has worked in the past ?
