CD write process completes, but the disc is still blank

Hey all
After working fine for a year, my CD burner stopped working.
It appears to go through the usual burning process but in the end,
the disk is still blank.
I have SP2 installed and it used to work fine with it.
Are any of you familiar with this problem?
If yes, where should i look for diagnosis?

I had a similar problem with mine burning re-writables, it was about a year
old at the time. The CD writer was faulty & I had to replace it.
