CD won't eject

Roughly half the times I use a CD - either to write one or simply to read -
it refuses to eject after use. I can force an eject by killing Explorer in
Task Mnager, and then restarting it as a new app.

The CD device is a Samsung SM-352B. The problem has been with me pre and
post SP2.

BTW, this newsgroup has done a fantastic job in supplying me with timely and
helpful answers to the problems I've had to date. Many thanks to the guys
who spend their hours dipensing wisdom!

Make sure you have the drivers up-to-date for it. Thats really the only thing
i can think of at the moment, becouse it appears to me that there is a
conflict of some kind somewhere in there. Sorry I couldn't give you more
assistance.

One thing I can suggest is to check your burning software to make sure
you do not have the "lock the drive" option checked. I'm not sure how
many progs you use. What baffles me a bit is you say it happens when you
just read them........
I would check any software that may possibly be connected to a rom and
see if it has features like that. CloneCD used to do that to me and it
stopped when I unchecked the option.

Hi Tony!!
I suggest that if it is not ur software, it is ur hardware.. oh ya, i dunno
if some1 mention it or not, u can manual eject ur cd by find a tiny hole at
the face of ur cd-drive(not the earphone jack!!) den poke it with a pin or
sumtin(not pen)..den the cd may be manually come out even ur comp is turned
off!! oh ya, btw, if u does that method while ur comp on, the cd-drive may
auto-shutdown and u need to uninstall & reinstall back the hardware from ur
comp..GooooD LuucCcK fRoM mE!!! ByEz!!
