CD won't continue install after first reboot

I am reinstalling WXP Pro because I have put in a new MB. I have changed from Asus P4B533 P4 to Supermicro X5DA8 dual Xeon. My install cd runs through the first sequence properly, but on the first re-boot, the install process starts from the beginning again.

any suggestions?

and tried all the suggestions and they did not work
I tried
1 - not pressing a key at the CD boot prompt, but it did not boot
2 - removing the CD before bios detected it, but I am left with a blinking cursor. I waited 20 minutes to see if it would do something, and nothing happened
3 - reconfiguring the bios during the reboot to not look for a bootable CD. no change
