CD-RW

I have a Mitsumi CR-48XATE CD-ROM drive. We have written files to CD-RW medium, but CD Writing Wizard does not recognize the disc as being writable. Also, it refuses to erase the file on the disc when I try that.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the drive. I have been unable to find any driver other than the one that is on the Windows XP Pro with SP1 CD. I have read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 322205, "How to Troubleshoot Hardware and Software Driver Problems in Windows XP", and Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 324129, "HOW TO: Troubleshoot Issues That Occur When You Write Data to a CD-R or CD-RW Optical Disc in Windows XP", but nothing in them seems to be of help.

Anyone experienced the same problem and found a solution?

You can't erase files, you have to erase the whole disk. You can use 3 party
software to do a special format of the cdrw and then you can use it like a
floppy, erasing single files and writing single files.
