CD-RW Lite-on drive light stays on

My CD-RW drive light on front of drive has begun to stay on without a CD in it. The light is red and it will play a CD. Any ideas?
 
that does not appear to be normal...go to the lite-on web
site and check for your model...most mfgrs will post their
light blink combinations... or email them for help if it's
not in your documentation you got with the drive
