cd rw help

I'm having problems with my new AOpen DVD CDRw unit.
It will work ok with XP's normal write to disk.

But I can't get Nero's INCD to work.
In fact if it's installed, XP crashes on bootup.
Remove INCD and XP works ok.

All latest ide and driver updates. System and BIOS
recognize the drive properly.

I vaguely remember their was something to turn off in XP
if you use a 3rd party CDRW program.

Can anyone help?
