My CDROM goes to sleep

Windows Xp Home
Using Nero latest version as InCd too.

When I want to use my cdrom, autorun doesn't run. If I go by my computer
icon and double click on the cd I get an error message that I must insert a
cd.

The only way to have it read is to put the cd in and restart the computer
and then it work.
It's like if the cdrom is going to sleep.

I tried two different LG brand : a regular CDRW and now a DVD writer with
the same results.

I tried to remove the cdrom in the control panel to have windows redetect
it. I uninstalled InCd and even tried the uninstall program for InCd from
Nero web site with no luck.

Any idea ?

Did you start to experience this issue after InCD installation ?

If yes, inCD will disable autorun feature for the drives so prevent any
conflicts but it should not result in the CDs being unusable. What happens
when you right click the CD drive and select Explore instead on double
clicking it ?

Did you reisntall CD-ROM/DVD drivers from Device Manager in a safe mode ?
