I have a hp pavilion 9680c and running windows xp my cd
rom has crashed and I can,t get it back can anybody help
 
More info. Does it show up on your device manager? Did
you just install a new driver? Does the tray open?

check the tray functionality of the CD-ROM,re-install the driver.
