I downloaded Windows XP home edition last night. I already had ME installed. I just installed XP over it. It seems to work just fine, but my D: (cd-rom) drive will not read or load any cds or software now. Thr toubleshooter says it is working properly...but of course it really isn't. What can I do to fix this? Help!

I assumed you upgraded and if you did you may have to reinstall your
software/

Have you installed Windows Mediaplayer and the latest hotfix? Can you read an audio CD from the Mediaplayer? if so unistall the Mediaplayer and the hotfix and reinstall the Mediaplayer without the hotfix, hopefully MS will fix the fix :-)
