I created a new data CD using a CD-RW in which I created a new directory & in this directory, 340 files (most of them being JPG files, the rest being AVI) were saved in 11 directories. The total size of all those files adds upto 385.89 MB but when I open "My Computer", Windows shows that 649 MB has been used up in the CD! Why this huge difference of 263.11 MB in the sizes? Is this something normal? I guess no :-)

Thanks,

Arpan

When it comes to burned CDs I believe Windows (and other OSes) report the size of the entire CD and does not differentiate between what we consider used and unused disk space.
