CD-ROM not working

My cd-rom works fine if the cd is in the drive before I restart or boot up.
But as soon as I change a cd, the explorer can not
see it and it acts as if nothing is on the cd. I have gotten it to work in
safe mode but have not figured out what software is causing this.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Running XP Home, Norton
Antivirus, Internet Security. I have disabled all of Norton and problem
still there. Mfg states it uses default cdrom drivers.
What is latest cdrom.sys date from Microsoft?

Has anyone responded to you? I'm having a similar
problem.I can play games buy nor audio CDs.

i got the same problem tooooo....anyone know how to fix
this problem????
