I recently reformatted and it appeared that EVERYTHING was fine. Right now,
my CD-ROM drive isn't reading any of my cds. I have updated to sp2. My pc
specs are AMD 64-bit +3200 socket 754 with a MSI K8N Neo Platinum with
updated board drivers. I have ATI catalyst 5.11 drivers. My cd-rom drive is a
Samsung SH-152A drive.

Last night, I broke my jump drive on the front port.. i literally broke the
little jump drive circuit board and one of my friends said that the jump
drive could have short circuited my board.. is that likely?

Anyways.. my cd-rom drive is detected and all, it just wont read any cds...
I've tried rolling back my drivers and everything

Have you tried another CD ROM. The reader in the drive could be defective.

Yes I have, I have a master/slave set-up on IDE 2 and it appears both don't
work. I also tried just having a master and it didn't work either.
