CD-ROM drive missing & not working

Hi,
I lost my CD-ROM drive and it is not visible in my PC electronically BUT physically connected. I checked my BIOS and it boot with
my 56X CD-ROM drive as seen by hitting Pause key. My System Information > Components > Problem Devices; This were listed:

Problem Devices: 56X CD-ROM
PNP Devices ID: IDE\CDROM_56X_CD-ROM
Error Code: 39 is: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing, etc.

Please read also my message in:
I followed Troubleshooting Wizard with NO success. Any help is Most Valuable Present to me! --Rino

Thank You Very Much! River Rat --- you're most kind and helpful! My CD-ROM drive magically appeared after I restart. Yes, now I
remembered --- it was caused by a 3rd party external DVD-+RW burner uncompleted removal of their software or repeated installing
and removal of software.

The 'cdgone.reg' is very safe and quick.
