Can you boot the machine with your WinXP CD
(after telling the BIOS to use the CD drive as its
primary boot device)? If you can't then your CD
drive is at fault - no point in looking for a driver.
deleting upperfilters and lowerfilter from
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
worked for me.
