When I insert a new cd or dvd into my drive, the computer still thinks that
the drive has the older cd in it. The cd image and name remains to be from
the older cd. Only way to fix this seems to be restarting the computer. I
have 2 drives, same thing happens for both. Any suggestions?

Hi Shaw,

Major bug in XP. Suggestions:

Open My Computer, right click on the CD Rom in question,
Properties/Hardware/Properties/Volumes/Populate.

Other than that, this problem can occur if you are using Folder view in
Windows Explorer. The view may not be automatically refreshed in Folder view
in Windows Explorer. Try hitting refresh (F5).

Kelly,

Shaw here, Refresh using F5 does not help. Using populate shows the
proper label only in populate window. There are similar reports to
mine. However, no solution seem to be found anywhere.

Thanks
