cd-rom drive

HELP ME PLZ!! i have had my computer for bout a year
now and now all of a sudden my regualr cd-rom drive has
stopped reading any kind of cd's its a hl-dt-st cdrom
compaq is the cpu computer i can see the cd-rom in
windows but it wont work it doesnt even act like its
trying to read cd's thx for your help

Just a basic CD ROM drive? Buy a new one! You can get a fast CD Burner for
about $30.... ! Not worth time and hassle to try to fix it.
