CD-ROM drive

Have lost my CD-ROM drive. . .. icon does not even show when i click "my
computer"
cannot use system restore because it has been like this for months. . .drive
does not open when i push the button on the computer either. . . is there
anyway i can get back the icon and the use of my CD-ROM???? Thanks in
advance for any help. . . R. E. Foltz

Does the bios see it?

The drive not opening is indicative of a hardware problem (dead drive?).

If it isn't that, turn off the computer and disconnect then reconnect the
connections.
Make sure the smallest one is connected properly.
You've already gotten the "use a boot disk" test. [Put your name in the
"Search" box if you don't recall.]
Otherwise, bad player.
