CD-ROM drive not working

The CD-RW drive on my computer is not working. While burning files to a CD, the drive ejected the CD as it normally does when the task was completed. Now, the drive will not close and it will not accept any CD's. I've tried placing several different types of CD's (Audio, Documents, Program Software, blank, etc.) into the drive, but the drive keeps ejecting the CD and will not recognize any CD placed in the drive. I've tried to troubleshoot the problem under the Device Manager. According to the system, the drive is functioning properly. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Boot your system with a Win98 boot disk from
www.bootdisk.com, then check the CD drive
again. If it still fails, replace it.
