CD ROM DRIVE CHANGED TO E, BUT NOT WORKING

MY CD ROM WONT WORK, IT USED TO BE DRIVE D, NOW IT SAYS DRIVE E , WHAT
HAPPENED I HAVE WINDOWS XP.
THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE IN ADVANCE
