CD ROM does not work after upgrade to XP

I recently upgraded my DELL Latitude laptop to MS XP from
MS NT4.0 and after the upgrade XP will not reconize my CD-
ROM in the modular bay. I can open the cdrom from the
keyboard,install a cd in it, close the cdrom, the cdrom
spins up to speed but that it. If I go to my computer this
only shows me the hard and floppy drives are present. If I
reboot the system and go int setup the setup says the
CDROM is in the bay. Does anyone have any ideas.

Try updating the cdrom driver from your oems website.
