CD-ROM and DVD+R stoped working after windows system restore point

did a system restore point and now my cd-rw or my dvd+rw
are no longer reconized on my system.

We had this problem when we first installed our DVD drive.
Tech support said it had to be on a different ribbon, not
the one the hard drive was on. We put the Cd rom and DVD
drives on their own ribbon and it worked fine. Hope this
helps.
