CD error message

Christina

I recently got a new hard drive. I tried to install the
Easy CD software that was on the previous hard drive (both
with XP Home) but for some reason it wouldn't accept it. I
bought the newer version and that installed fine and I
tried a test burn without difficulty. My problem is that
when I boot up, I get an error message popup in the sys.
tray that says "CD Recording Software will cause Windows
to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers
from loading." I tried removing the program and
reinstalling but it is still there. The man at the shop
didn't know how to get rid of it but he said he had
already installed the CD using different software. I tried
to follow the MS suggestions about changing the registry
with that error and did change the registry but couldn't
delete the CD software because it hung up. In any case,
it didn't seem to help. I also tried deleting the HighMAT
Extension to xP Writing Wizard but still got the error. I
have had some lockups which I never had before so I do
want to sort it out. Any help appreciated.
