cd\dvd problems

I have a sony cd/dvd never had a problem with this device
until i upgraded to windows xp now the cd will read music
cd's but refused to read anything else data or dvd's what
if anything can i do about this problem i also have an
iomega zip 650 and it does read everything and it is
connected thru the usb port if anyone has any suggestions
i would appreciate i have lose enough sleep on this
problem

You need XP compatible software for your DVD drive. It isn't a part of XP,
you need something like PowerDVD or WinDVD for XP.
