My computer for some time has had this problem. If I explore a disc with say
5 files numbered 1 to 5 and then replace the disc with one with files 6 to
10, press explore and the contents of the new disc (6 to 10) is still shown
as 1 to 5. I have tried pressing refresh to no avail. Normally can read disc
if I switch on and off.

Any help appreciated

You should have used the software eject. Your problem is that by just
pulling the disk out, you have prevented Windows from recognizing that the
disk is gone. Hence, AP uses the cached directory which is of course
incorrect for another disk.
