CD/DVD drive misbehaving in Explorer

My DVD/CD drive, set as "F" on my system often seems to get "stuck" with a
volume label for a CD/DVD put in, and numerous subsequent mounts don't
change it. I'll then otice something else HAS changed it, but haven't been
able to deduce why.

A while ago it was even showing the directory structure for a DVD that I
burnt earlier, that had been removed.

This is getting irritating. Any ideas as to how to resolve?

ps. I can't seem to get anything to Autorun either when new disks are
inserted.

I have the same problem. Only the first inserted cdrom shows the correct volume name. Every cd that is inserted after the first one simply shows DVD DRIVE(G) ( the default name for an empty drive
