I have a DVD/CD-RW drive and a DVD+/-RW drive. It occurs on both drives.
Heres what happens:
1. Start computer/Log in
2. Put cd in drive
3. Check on My Computer that it sees the cd
4. Remove cd from drive
5. My Computer still says that the cd is in the drive
6. Browse the contents of the supposed cd in the drive. It shows the files
on the cd.
7. Try to open a file from the cd gives an error. ex. opening an
executable says "___ is not a valid win32 application"
8. Return to My Computer
9. Insert a different cd
10.My Computer still says that the original cd is in the drive
11.Browse the contents of the cd in the drive. Files shown are the files on
the new cd, not the original one.
12.The only way to make it recognize that a new cd is in there (as far as I
have found) is to restart the computer.
Clicking refresh at My Computer does not affect anything. I have updated
the firmware on my DVD+/-RW drive, but it did not help. I often use Alcohol
120% to mount images on virtual drives, so I removed all of the virtual
drives from my system, but this did not help either.
Any ideas?
