CD drives will no longer recognize software CDs previously install

Recently, my cd drives quit reading some game cd's and program cd's that I
have used in the past saying they maybe corrupt or not in a Windows format.
We have not done anything to the computer recently that would have caused
this. They will recognize cd's that have information on them like photos,
etc. What may be the problem?
