Brian more info will be needed, like: When you open "My Computer" are the CD Drives there? When you access "device manager" are they there and does XP say that they're working properly? Can you manually start a CD from the run option in XP ie., "Start>Run>D:UT2004.exe"? Can you view the contents on the CD from a DOS window? "Run>type cmd hit enter>then type cd c:>enter then cd d:" With a CD inserted. And finally, what changed on the computer prior to the drives quitting? Normally, drives just don't quit working. Mark
