CD drive

dont know if im supposed to be posting here but need help!

when i play a DVD is keeps jumping, and stopping and starting and the sound
is now comming out all crackely not sure what has happend as it never did
this before. All my songs on windows media player play ok with minimal
crackling its just things on the DVD Drive?.

Two possibilites here

1. poorly written/ damaged DVD disks
2. DVD drive is failing

If your DVDs play OK in another machine then suspect the drive,are you
able to swap it out for another one.
