CD Drive won't open

My CD Rom won't even open. It was fine last time I used it
so I'm not sure what to do.

You probably have the Blaster worm (virus.)

Run your AV software; this should fix it, but you may have to do more.

It sounds like you need a through safe-guarding of your system, so I strongly
suggest you get some hand-holding advice on how to make your system more
secure.

it could have just plain failed


try going into "my computer" then right click on the CD icon and selecting:
eject

if that does not work and...

if there is a cd in it that you need to remove

if you take a paper clip and poke it in to the tiny hole in the front of the
cd drive
it should open

When you turn the computer on, a light on the CD Rom drive should come on
for a few seconds. If it does not, then you may indeed have a dead drive. If
the light does not come on when you power on, if you are comfortable opening
the computer, make sure the power connector to the CD Rom drive is connected
tightly.
