CD drive problems

My cdrom is not working properly. I can boot from the
disc but can not access it when Windows is up. What is
wrong with it? How do I fix it?
 
What error messages are there? Is it seen in Device Manager? Is it seen
in Explorer?
 
It is not seen in Device Manager or in Explorer. The
error messsage says that the folder was moved or removed.
