Is it possible to tell from the cd how it was created?

If you open up 'Computer', switch to 'Details' view, and then right-click
the headings at the top then you should see a 'File System' option that you
can put a tick mark by.

UDF means live file system
and
CDFS means mastered

Thank you but my computer recognizes them all as UDF

The default is UDF, so unless you've specified otherwise then they will all
be UDF. If you want to use the mastered format instead, then you can choose
this when you format the CD

When you first format the CD there's a 'Show formatting options' link which
you can click to choose the Mastered file system instead.

I burned copies both ways but all were listed as UDF

You're right. I stand (or rather sit) corrected. Perhaps someone else will
chime in with their thoughts.

Thanks again for your reply. I han burned some copies as Live and some as
mastered but they all showed up as UDF. Itested a cd that I burned 2 years
ago and it showed up as CDFS. I took the cds home to test on my Windows ME
and Linux computer. My office only has XP and Vista bit I deal with small
utilitied with old hardware.
