CD Burning in XP

I have been trying to set up a test box in our enviroment to determine what
sets of rights a group of users will need.
I thought i would instal microsofts IMAPI v2 and see if i could get the DVD
burning capability that KB932716 boasts. Well now all my drive will read is
"there is no disc in the drive" no matter the media. I work in an enviroment
where we support +20k of them approx. 15k will need a simple burning
solution, we have been through roxio and ez, but that left a bad taste in the
mouth. Needless to say if i can get the IMAPI working(our needs are simple
here) then we can save a bundle.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Windows XP only has native CD burning and not DVD burning.
If you need DVD burning, you'll need a third-party program.

let me be a little more detailed
I have a very basic XP pro SP2 image on a GX520 with a gig of ram
I have enabled IMAPI (net config imapiservice start=auto, sc start
imapiservice) and I have enabled the drive for burning (value 2)in the
registry.
yet when I deposit any file for burning I get "there is no disc in the drive".

Xandros

Cheap if you purchase multi license and easy to use
http://www.burnmyfiles.com/ I have this on my wife's system. There is an
entry in the right click context menu so just select the file(s) and right
click->Burn. Or you can have more control if you want and it burns to DVD or
CD.

I have been using CDBurnerXP, a free utility available at
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/.

Despite the name, the program will also burn DVD's, including ISO's.

If you don't like the commercial products tried so far and can't use a
free product and XP doesn't have a resident solution for burning DVD's
you may be out of luck in your effort to save money.
