CD Burner

I wonder if anyone can help me, I have been having problems over the last
couple of days with my CD burner, it has started to stop recognizing blanck
CD's.
If I insert any type of pre-recorded CD, there is no problem. It will play it.
I have tried burning with WMP, NERO and ROXIO all with the same results. It
just can't find the blank CD's... I thought it might be a dodgy batch, but I
bought a different brand and it's still the same......
Any ideas people, I have tried all that I know and can think of, including
uninstalling and re-installing the drivers and the programs.
Could it possibly be the actual drive itself that's got to the CD burner in
the sky???
Any suggestions and help would be appreciated..

Thanks in advance..

Reboot with your CD-Rom/burner empty and try again, it will work now.
Make sure your CDs are new and not used ones.

Byte, thanks for that, tried it but it's still the same, just won't recognize
blank discs. I bought two packs of new discs, both different manufacturers,
still the same. Maybe it's time to renew and upgrade the drive....

Byte, it was checked.... I am borrowing a friends burner tomorrow to see if
his works, if so, then it's time to bite the bullet and get myself a new one..
Thanks for your help
