cd burner not being recognised ne1 help?

my computer has had s few viruses in the past n we hav had to partition the
hard drive earlier i went onto windows media player to burn a cd and 2
eror messages came up one saying an unknown error had occured and one
saying the dc burnr wasnt there when it should be ne1help
 
What do you mean, you had to partition the harddrive? Do you now have more
than one partition, like a "C" and a "D". Or do you mean you -
REPARTITIONED???
and reinstalled XP??? If you repartitioned, you have also reformatted the
harddrive and you must reinstall all your drivers including the one for your
burner.
