CD Burner disappeared

I went to backup my files the other day and when I went to burn the
information to a cd the drive for the rewriteable wasn't showing up and D
drive wasn't recognizing the blank CDs. I'm assuming that E drive is what
they call the burning drive. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi Chrystal,
Go to the Device Manager, right click- My Computer Icon- and Select
properties, click on Device Manager and see if the CD Drive is there and if
there's any proplem expand the Plus(+) on the Cd Drive Icon and see if there
's Red cross and troubleshoot from there,if n't in the Device Manager try to
configure the CD in BIOS Setup,or see if the Cable for the CD Drive is
Loose(both Power Cable,Data Cable).
Hope that will Help
