Windows came installed on my new computer, and no CD came
with it. I inquired quite a while ago about getting one ,
and was told there was none available yet, as there were a
lot of updates to make it more secure.

Now, my Windows is damaged by a virus, and I need the CD.
How do I get one? It should be free, as it was included
in the computer I purchased.

Hi Pamela,

The only source you have is the system manufacturer. This is a limitation of
OEM (preinstalled) systems. You basically are stuck with what they offer.
Their recovery software may be on CD, but it also may be on a hidden
partition on the hard drive. You should check your system documentation for
the proper avenue to recover your system.
