ccapp.exe and shutdown again

Hi Again all,
driving me nuts..have win xp pro and norton anti virus....win xp won't
shut dow until I go into win task mgr and manually turn off
ccapp.exe....have tried reinstalling both xp and norton and playing with
autoprotect settings and nothing seems to work appreciate any suggestions.

Have you figured out what CCAPP.EXE actually is?? It's not one I'm familiar
with and personally, I would be treating it as a virus or spyware.

Try looking in your Services (Right Mouse on "My Computer", left mouse on
"Manage". Go to "Services and Applications", then down into "Services". See
if you can find any reference to CCAPP.EXE. If it's there, stop the service
then disable it.

Beyond that, I would be hacking into the registry to stop this program
loading.

It's the Symantec Common Client APPlication, providing common functions to
various Symantec products, like NAV, NIS, NU etc.

It's not a virus or spyware. If you disable it, you'll probably break the
Symantec products you have installed.
