Category View

I have lost the ability to change from Classic View in my control panel. The
left pane is completely non-existant. I have modified the registry in the
past, but this is a fresh installation. Everything was working fine this
morning. Any help is appreciated.

"Switch to..." option is missing in the Control Panel Common Tasks:

Those keys are not present in my registry. Also, the entire left pane is
missing, it's not just that the switch to category view is missing.

Enable the Common Tasks pane in folder options.
