Control Panel not responding in Category View

Clicking on any category in Control Panel Category View results in an
hourglass. Ctrl+alt+delete shows Control Panel not responding.

The Control Panel items work in Classic View, as does double-clicking
the .cpl files. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem - seems to be linked to earthlink total access in my system. Have you had any success yet?

Having the same problem. Its a new laptop. Category View was working fine but when I updated with all the recommended downloads, it stop working. However, it does work under "Classic View" and Contro Panels that open another window (Add or Remove Programs and User Accounts works fine.)

I am having the same problem with a brand new computer after downloading windows updates
