Cataloging slides

Can anyone recommend a program that I could use to catalog the slides
within various PP presentations? I do the overheads for music at a
weekly Bible study and frequently we sing the same songs. It's time
consuming to have to either try to find the slides or create new ones
each week and would be handy if I could have them at my finger tips.

Or if someone could suggest a way to do this? Cost is a strong
consideration.

I have Office 2003 Pro, WinXP

Thanks,
Sherry

If wanted to, you could keep all the slides in a single master presentation,
placing them in alphabetical order by song title. Using the Title Only Slide
Layout, place the song title in the Click to add title placeholder box. Drag
it off the slide so it cannot be seen. However, all of these titles can be
seen in your Navigation Pane at the right side of the scree -- in the outline
view. In this case, I would not place the text for the actual songs in a
placeholder text box - you wouldn't want this to show up in your outline. Now
you can quickly scroll down and view song titles in alphabetical order.

Sherry,

The way I do it for worship services (and there are three or four in the
group that assemble the services) is to have a library of slide sets
organised in sub directories. That is, we have one main book we use with
some 750 hymns in it so I have four directories ecat with up to 200 slide
sets, identified by number, (1-200, 201-400, 401-600 and 601-800). As well
I have a directory for hymns not from that source which are identified by
first line. Wen then "assemble" a service pulling slide sets from the
appropriate directories.

We would have about 600 hymns available "on demand" so to speak. Cost is
disk space and effort.
