What case fans have you got?

Never really got into installing case fans, but I want my CPU and system temperatures to drop slightly, so I am looking for case fans that are good and most of all silent.

What do you reccomend?

Other question is how do I measure a fan's dimension is it diagonally across?
I got a loud case fan here, that I am trying to work out it's dimension so that I get the right size for the new fans!

On my main rig:

3 x standard 120mm fans that came with Antec 900 case, all on low setting
200mm standard fan with Antec 900 case on max setting
Noctua 120mm 1200rpm fan mounted on side panel blowing at graphics card, on full.

Noctua make excellnt fans and Pabst are good as well.

For budget consider YS-Tech.

kinda yeah, but to get the same one from OCUK would have cost me £15, even buying the cheapest they do would cost nearly £10 by the time you've added postage and i wasn't getting anything else so it was just as easy to pick one up as i was passing

Temps? See pic below.

And that's with a twin core CPU at 100%

It's also very quiet. I could reduce the noise a little by throttling back on the 200mm fan and the Noctua fan but it really is quiet and I like those temps :)

And here's the Noctua fan I added to the Antec 900 case: Noctua 1200 fan

I have another one on my Noctua CPU cooler, which means it has one blowing and one exhausting, but that cooler is on my second machine. The machine I took this pic from is the one specced in my signature and has a Zalman cooler.

I always get Akasa Amber series fans - the 120mm ones run at 1400rpm at only 18Db. I have checked them against more expensive ones but have not found anything that shifts the same amount of air at that noise level. £7 each for the 120mm is a good price too.:thumb:

question:

I got one fan on the back

one on the front

The front one blows into the system the back one blows out of the system
does that sound right?

i think i already did on here somewhere

i dont think she looks that good
the specs are good enough not to make windows hang
i can watch tv, listen to music, surf wed, even burn dvds without it hanging!
im watching cpu temp like a hawk and looking to add another 500gb to take it to 1.5tb overall.

she is very silent though!!

Atm I only connected up one that blows cold air outwards from back in the case
but I do have another one on the front which I didn't connect up YET
