capturing digital video to mpeg-ms movie maker

Neal Silbert

I have a dv camera with firewire output.
I'd like to capture the results to .mpeg format rather
than wmv.
Is this possible with MS Movie Maker 2?

Can anyone suggest an alternate approach?

Thanks.

No you capture it in either WMV or DV-AVI. Then use third party software
after you've finished editing it in MM2 to do the re-encoding into MPEG.

For best results, capture, edit and save in DV-AVI.... however since it's
uncompressed, you will need LOTS of hard drive space... approximately 12gb
per hour of 'footage'.
